Where's My Captain?

While the Old went out, the New isn't in.
So we’re all in a rudderless ship,
Awaiting for the Captain’s appearance.
And the crew is restless, in anticipation…
How is the Captain? Where is he?

In the hold, the cargo goes astray…
“Keep the North Star in sight, look upon it”,
The fleet Commander orders, “Keep her steady”.
The first-mate tries to right the course,
And his trial hasn't the strength needed.

Thus, we’re drifting slowly,
In this vast ocean of self-discovery.

( This poem was written when I was a teacher in Orong high school. The old principal had been transferred and the new wasn't in, and in that interim period confusion prevailed .)
