Morning Tests

Cramped, dark, tensed
the classroom seems.
Elbow to elbow, they write.
It’s Monday test,
and the paper is Physics.

Silence, only broken by
the scribble of pens
and the shuffling of
papers, as they dig
out the answers to the
page full of questions.

The class decors peel
off the walls, books piled
hurriedly on the floor
as they clear the table
tops to write on.

A few raise eyes at
me, while some frown
in concentration, the
soft furrows cuts deep
on their foreheads.

Now, the lights are on,
Faces brighter, seems the
Questions are easier.

Outside its sunny.
It’s going to be OK.
Everything’s going
to be all right.
